Clinical Bottom Line/Effectiveness
Brief Background:
- Admax™ is an adaptogenic plant formula preparation containing ethanol/water extracts from roots of Leuzea carthamoides, Rhodiola rosea, and Eleutherococcus senticosus and fruits of Schizandra chinensis.
- Admax™ is traditionally used as an adaptogen, a stress adapting system that 'tones down hyperfunctioning activity or strengthens hypofunctioning activity' in the endocrine and immune systems to treat athletes, the elderly, and immunocompromised patients. According to secondary sources, antioxidative properties present in Admax™ may help to slow degenerative processes, balance inflammatory cascade events, and provide energy.
- According to the manufacturers and research from Russia, Admax™ enhances athletic performance after surgery; however, supportive primary literature is currently lacking. According to human study, Admax™ in combination with chemotherapy helped boost the suppressed immunity in patients with ovarian cancer (1).
- Admax™ is a candidate for future studies in athletic performance; in the elderly with diminished muscle protein and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's; and in individuals with suppressed immune systems as a result of radiotherapy and chemical influences.
