Weight-Loss Supplement Recalled |

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recalled the weight-loss supplement Slim-30™ because it was shown to contain undeclared N-desmethyl sibutramine and traces of sibutramine.
Sibutramine is an FDA-approved drug that is used as an appetite suppressant. It is the active ingredient in the drug Meridia® in the United States and Reductil® in Europe. However, the FDA has not approved Slim-30™ as a drug.
Sibutramine may increase blood pressure and heart rate is some patients. It is not recommended in patients with heart disease, psychiatric illnesses, kidney disorders or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
The FDA has recalled lot #032009. Individuals who have purchased Slim-30™ should return the product to the retailer for a full refund.
